Medea

Role: Set and Costume Design
Date: December 2023
Location: St Athans Boys Village, Barry, Wales

This conceptual design of 'Medea' was based on the theory of chance and physical theatre. I explored the idea of site specific design at the St athans boys village near Barry, Wales. We wanted to create a production that was community lead by using a abandoned space in the community and having the idea that all performers would be local dancers. To make the experience unique the idea of a roulette of scenes came up where we decided to have the performance change each time based on what scene this pre programmed wheel would end up on. This would mean that depending when you see the performance, changes how you perceive characters and their actions towards eachother.
